School Trips and Visits

Class 3 enjoyed a fun activity day at Chatsworth at the end of term. They went on a tractor-trailer ride around the estate, followed a sensory walk, enjoyed a picnic and rounders in the park, visited the farm and the adventure playground, and most important of all - visited the shop and had an ice-cream!
Year 5 and 6 went on a trip to the White Hall Centre, an outdoor education centre near Buxton, in May 2006. They took part in a number of activities, including rock climbing, assault course and the aerial runway. It was a really good day for team-building!
Class 1 went to Chester Zoo as part of their work on animals from hot and cold countries. Here, they are watching the penguins swimming in their pool.
The Air Raid Shelters in Stockport have been a fantastic place to visit when learning about World War II. Class 3 visited in 2004 (pictured above) and Class 2 visited in Autumn 2005. The children found out a lot about how it felt to be an evacuee child.
New Mills Heritage Centre is an excellent place to learn about the history of the local area. Here, Class 3 are learning about New Mills in the Victorian Times.
We have visited New Mills Library to find out about borrowing books and using the other resources the library provides. We have also studied the census returns from New Mills as part of our historical studies.
